The revolutionary Ezy-Latch™ has been designed to alleviate many of these problems commonly associated in the Diamond Core Drilling industry.

Stuck core tubes can be associated with over-drilling and/or badly broken ground which presses the head assembly hard against the core barrel. Traditional head assemblies contain latches that operate on an upward arc-retraction, which worsens the jam. Trying to remove these blockages often ends in broken wirelines, long rod pulls and considerable amounts of down-time.

With the Ezy-Latch™ parallel latch retraction, these problems are dramatically reduced - the innovative parallel retraction action of the Ezy-Latch™ system minimizes latch jamming and allows normal easy retraction of the inner core tube assembly without the costly drill rig downtime caused by unnecessary drill rod tripping out the borehole.

The Ezy-Latch™ Posi-Connect™ Spearpoint assembly and design has many additional positives. Traditional spearpoints have the ability to “fall-over” from a vertical position into a 90 position within a larger diameter tube, making retrieval difficult. The Posi-Connect™ housing ensures that the spearpoint remains vertical at all times when lowering down the hole.

Traditional spearpoint attachments have the tendency to rattle loose if not regularly checked and it is common to see these assemblies doctored with “coat-hanger wires” or other means of permanent attachment. The Posi-Connect™ is factory assembled with hardened pins that are positively locked.

The SIMPLE PATENT PENDING DESIGN of the Ezy-Latch™ Positive Release Latch System™ incorporating the Posi-Connect Self Centring Spearpoint™ will almost eliminate the costly problem of an inner core tube that cannot be withdrawn from the core barrel because the spearpoint of the head assembly is jammed at an angle against the interior of the drill pipe.
The unique detent design of the Posi-Connect Self Centring Spearpoint™ will automatically self right the spearpoint from a position plus or minus 40° from vertical and the assembly can be universally retro-fitted to most popular designs of Inner Core Tube Head Assembly. Adaptable to N and H sizes means only one head assembly needs to be purchased, which means huge savings over traditional head assemblies.
